Well, now that the crisis is over, I think I can talk about it. This was the final straw last week when I wrote about the world crapping on my head...
No we don't owe him any money and no, we couldn't pay that back right now even if we wanted to! He then agreed that it was a mistake, in fact he owes US money! He will try to sort it out as soon as possible.
Well, after a week with no money (their original mistake caused a total screw up with the bank) they have finally sorted it out - we have money, we can afford Christmas, Santa IS coming to town!

Oh yay! So glad that got sorted out John.
Bloody tax men - I'm sure they wouldn't stand for someone doing that to THEM, let alone so close to Christmas!
At least you can be happy that they've found out they owe YOU! That's a nice little treat :)
Yep, getting some back was a nice treat but I am not sure it was worth the nervous breakdown!
Yeah. My head would've definitely popped off it's last ligament standing on that one.
Last year, our great tax man system sent the husband and I a little letter. This little letter stated that we owed them $11,000.00 (AKA in the UK: 5,393.630 GBP). And we owed it immediately.
I about fell over and sporked my eye out.
Seriously, I understand EXACTLY how you felt. Ours was sorted out, but we DID still owe them money. Not that much, but more than I wanted to send. I almost punched out our a**hole of an accountant. We paid him to do our taxes correctly. He did not. So, why is it that we, not he, has to pay for being wrong?
Why is it the government can make such a huge mistake and then just be able to say, "Oops! Sorry!"
Anyway, I'm glad it's all worked out.
Wow! I am glad that it's all sorted out and with a good ending instead of a bad one!
That's the thing that gets me too...the gov't can make a mistake and make your life nutso for a while and then just say Oops Sorry but when we make a mistake...it's penalties and interest!
So glad to hear that you got this worked out! It can be stressful when this kind of thing happens at this time of year...
Jen - Hope you have got a new accountant! That is not what you pay him for!
Terri - You got it - we make a mistake and they are on us like a ton of bricks, they mess up and it's "oopsa-daisy"...
Logzie - Yes it all turned out OK, but it really was something that we could have happily done without!
Kiki - Yes, the timing was done to perfection! I can see them around a table, brainstorming for ideas...
Wow... finally got caught up with everything happening in your life.
I can't get over that they can do that-I agree with Logzilla.
Glad that everything worked out and that Santa is coming. Make sure to put out the best cookies for HIM!
I love it when Santa comes to town!!! YAY! Christmas is back on!
