I also use a Windows machine but the desktop on that is locked to show a set university image, links and stuff, so I left that one alone.
As you can see, it is pretty messy, as I tend to put stuff there as I work and then have a tidy up when I run out of space.
The photo is of Custard, the day we got him, so here it is without all the junk on top:
If you want to do one of these and are not sure how to do it, all of the instructions are on Terri's blog - see above for the link. No point replicating it all here...

Awe...Custard!! So cute!!!
My my, you have a lot of icons! :0)
Wow- icons....
I generally arrange my icons prettily around whatever picture I have up...
Ohhhh... baby Custard! What a doll!
Logzie - Yep, lots of icons, I jsut save my files to the desktop as I work so I can get them again really easily.
Princess - You make me feel guilty for having icons covering up Custard!
Terri - He was SO cute as a puppy. In fact I was really not sure that I wanted another dog until we saw him, his mom and his brother (they were the last 2 left) bounding across the farmyard...
Custard is sooo cute! Makes me want to reach in the screen and pick him up and hug him! Maybe that should be one of my superpowers.
Aww - Custard - so damn cute...aww.
I can't believe how many icons people have on their desktop. I can frustrated when I have anything more than my recycling bin... but - sometimes I do have icon envy... sometimes..
Anyway, custard - holy crap - so cute!
Krista - now that WOULD be a superpower! Google up pictures of whatever you wanted and grab them out of the screen! Just think how fat people would get if they searched for food!
Ali - He knows it too!
Zig - I love icons, it means I can have everything I need right there, no digging. Not allowed to do this to my Windows machine at work, though :-(
I know everyone's said this already, but Custard is so cute!
Interesting meme.
So you DID decide to get another dog. Our dog is so wonderful. Never bit. Doesn't bark. Friendly to everyone. She's nearing 14 years old now and I can see she won't be with us much longer (better hurry up before I start to cry.) Anyway, I have always said I would never get another dog, because no dog could possibly compare to her. But... after reading your comment... maybe it's something we'll consider. Guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Marie - so, what is YOUR desktop like?
Terri - I know how you feel - we had some really great dogs in the past and we had a 5 year gap between losing Sid (a really cute collie cross) and getting Custard. Could be a post in this!
You definitely should write about that John!
