My Wargame Photos

Cynoscephalae, Rome vs Macedonia, 197BC

The Romans

The Macedonians

As you can see, the terrain is not the prettiest in the world, but it worked very well for the game, which is what my prize was for. Next year I will make sure it is mega pretty too...

Wow, John! It looks great! How long did it take you to do that?

The scenary was only a couple of evenings work. The soldiers took rather longer (spaced out over a few months), even with the 'speed painting' that I did on a lot of them. Most of the figures here are 25 to 30 years old, bought when I was a teenager and repainted for the event.

Um, 'speed painting' means I did them quickly, not that I was doing drugs at the time, OK?

LOL..."speed painting means I painted them quickly"...HA!!...thanks for the clarification! :0)

Wow...that does look like a ton of work. What is the scenery made of?

So, the soldier's don't get broken or smashed...it's more like chess in that way?

Thanks for the pictures!!

The scenary is made of polystyrene tiles glued together, filler and textured paint. This was then painted with various household paints.

The soldiers are not destroyed deliberately, but spears get broken from time to time. It is then time to replace the weapon with thin wire or a pin with the ends removed.

Well, I will take your work for it. I think it is dreadfully nurdy, myself.
